Youth Link Program

Background
  • Started in 1990 by members of the community.
  • Provide leadership opportunities for teens in addressing issues affecting youth through involvement.
  • Partnership with the COB, BSD, and other community based organizations in Bellevue.
  • Bellevue Youth Council size: 80 youths.
  • Projects started: Ground Zero Teen Center, Skate Park, Teen Talk Radio Program, Safe Rides, Youth Wall of Fame, Community Leadership Awards, Youth Involvement Conference, and many more!

How does it work?
  • Teens in Bellevue apply to be part of Youth Link as members of the Bellevue Youth Council
  • Members serve in “Action Teams” designed to address the priorities identified at the “Youth Involvement Conference” that occurs every two years
  • All members receive leadership training opportunities, initiate  special projects through the council, participate and lead service project activities each month
